Russia's highest-paid and most in-demand presenter does not like to talk or tell journalists about the origin of his tattoos. Each of them is a whole world with its own philosophy and look. Fans of the artist are lost in the guesswork, for what he stuffed them exactly, and not something else.
Some images are visible to the naked eye and it is not difficult to explain them, others are either hidden under his clothes, or their meaning is carefully guarded by the owner. Tattoo of Dmitry Nagiev, the idol of millions of viewers, are diverse and hold a truly sacred meaning. Many fans of his talent would like to know the history of appearance and meaning of each of them.
How many pictures the showman has on his body, only he knows, because some of them are located on the parts of his body that he does not display to the public. They can all be divided into two categories: inscriptions and drawings. If the first can be translated from a foreign language, get one or two meanings and, having poked around, still come up with a suitable version of meaning, then the latter have in their interpretation of multiple meanings, which makes them very difficult to understand.
Cross Tattoo
A massive black cross adorns the left biceps of the show business star. This version of the symbol refers to the Christian religion, and it is the Catholic faith, because in Orthodoxy in this symbol is added to the lower crossbar, as a personification of the righteous measure. It is difficult to answer unequivocally why the artist chose the Catholic version, living in a country where Orthodoxy is the main religion. Here we can refer to partly German ancestry star: paternal grandmother had German roots.
The image of the Catholic cross can directly reflect the presenter's attitude to religion and faith. In his interviews, he has repeatedly reiterated that such topics in discussion with journalists are taboo for him. It is only known that his relationship with God is not entirely smooth. Having converted to Orthodoxy at 23, the artist regularly visits Catholic churches while on tour.
"God doesn't care what direction or how many fingers we cross our foreheads in. I don't think he sits and petulantly watches through binoculars as we observe all kinds of rituals we've invented.
The very meaning of this symbol includes several interpretations. The first, and most important, is God's protection and sanctity. The second is the atonement for sins and enduring long suffering, both spiritual and physical. This symbol is the mark of one who "wears his cross. Such a philosophically complex interpretation of this tattoo suggests that Nagiyev is a man who shares notions of faith and religion.
Tattoos can be deadly
Old servicemen will be allowed to keep the body painting, but partially. If the picture or inscription is considered to be offensive to the representatives of any race or sex, and especially if they see the extremist subtext in it, the bearer of such a message will be required to clear his skin, and at the same time the conscience and reputation of the American troops. The master of body painting, Dmitry Rechnoi, admits that previously a tattoo was made to stand out from the crowd, now it is made to stand out from the crowd of tattooed people. Originality is limited only by the client's imagination and sense of humor.

The tattooist's eternal questions: what to inject and who to inject? The rest is a matter of time. For a large tattoo, it takes up to six months. Hieroglyphics, gothic script and pussies that don't go out of style can be done in a few minutes.
The most popular place for a tattoo is, of course, the hand. First, the sketch goes through a special printer, you get a print. The paper is removed - and the beginning is done. And this is probably the last stage where you can still change your mind. The preliminary drawing is washed off after a couple of days. It is very difficult to get the tattoo off without a trace.
Dmitry Rechnoi, tattoo artist: "A man without a tattoo can live perfectly well, there is no need for it. But if we have taken all precautions, we have quality tools, a person responsibly takes care of his tattoo - what's wrong with that?"
Designer Masha Tsigal's fall/winter collection was inspired by hippie style. A lotus heart on the shoulder, a crown with ornaments on the back and a hidden floral tattoo on the side complete the look.
Masha Tsigal, designer: "Did tattoos in a variety of life situations, now in a very sterile environment. The first tattoos, of course, were on some apartments, but I never had any problems with it".
Ekaterina Bukharina, endocrinologist: "The beauty that adorns Timati does not harm him in any way - the amount of muscle mass is big enough. But if a thin girl does it, then this paint will collect in her axillary lymph nodes, they will be dense and enlarged. And the lymphatic system is the immune system.
Specialists say that before getting a tattoo, you have to choose the salon carefully. The most undesirable places on live canvases are in the groin area, on the lower back and next to moles. The rule is one - think seven times, tattoo once.
Egyptian Ankh tattoo.
On the left forearm of the star is another curious tattoo - the image of the Egyptian cross Ankh. In this case, too, Dmitry answers reporters' questions evasively and is not eager to share his opinion on the meaning of the symbol. Art historians assure us that the Egyptian Ankh has a special energy power, which is not good for everyone.
It is possible to interpret the image in different ways. Here are just a few of the more iconic meanings:
- Immortality and eternal life after death;
- Wisdom, allowing to comprehend the mysteries and secrets of the universe and giving great hidden knowledge to the owner;
- Powerful protection from evil spirits and charms, capable of protecting against the negative effects of others.
In addition to symbolism, each of the parts of the Egyptian Ankh has its own sacred meaning:
- The horizontal ray identifies the boundary, through which one should not cross;
- The vertical ray - the road of life, which is not worthy to leave, if you have already chosen it firmly;
- The ear joins the eternal sky;
- The place of intersection is a powerful point of concentration of all of a person's energy.
Such a strong multifunctional drawing is not suitable for everyone, but only for strong personalities, as Dmitry Nagiev is.
Bone Crunching: Interview with tattoo artist Dmitry Rechny
About two weeks ago in the editorial blog we announced a short interview with one of the most famous Russian tattoo artists Dmitry Rechny. Among tattoo lovers there are real legends about him - to the point that some of his clients sell a place in the queue to others, because to get to Rechnoi now almost impossible.
Our contributors went to Dmitry's studio, made a short video report from there, and talked to him about the music he likes to work to most, his favorite foreign masters, and why you should not measure tattoos in packs.
The story behind the name of my current tattoo studio is pretty simple (It was suggested by an acquaintance back in the Nineties and in the year 2000 I was not happy with the label I was working under anymore and I changed it without thinking too much about it.
If you hadn't just come to visit me and signed up for a session, this interview might not have come out until January 2013. I think it's the cost of my popularity - some of the rumors that circulate among my clients are speculation, of course, but some of them are true anyway - it's very hard to get to me now. I've heard, for example, that some clients resell tattoo records to other clients. I'm hostage to this situation and can't do anything about such a harrowing wait for many.
Guys who have been tattooed by other masters, coming to me, say that I have a light hand, Although many have the feeling from the outside that my manner is quite aggressive. I work quickly and productively - able to do tattoos within A4 format in one session.

My first tattoo I don't have any excitement about - it was "Elien. It was done back in the nineties. All subsequent tattoos were done by various overseas guests, and I am 100% satisfied with them. There are many professionals who like to work in one particular style and I am one of them - I like the classics best in this respect. But I'm not squeamish about other styles and I don't think my choice is the best.
I won't even consider as a potential client someone who has spared letters in their message to write "hello." I'm also repulsed by people who don't know how to ask the right questions and phrase them correctly. Often I don't know what to answer the question, "How much is this one?" or "How much is a tutu?" I'm an artist, not a cartoonist, and I won't do a tattoo based on a stolen design. First of all, it's just disrespectful to both the creator of the tattoo and the wearer.
I wish people would consider masters for their handiwork and stop measuring tattoos in "bundles" or, as one friend of mine said, "in milk cartons. A tattoo is an art, everything here has to be individual, from body parameters to personal preference.
I'm not a big believer in the success of covers - Plus they take an insane amount of time and effort. Although there are rare cases when the result exceeds all possible expectations and suddenly you get a very good work, which you can be proud of. I myself very rarely agree to such projects, but if the person is good, then why not.
I like to tattoo in the studio most of all to some kind of punk rock.Although there are times when I just want silence. On the other hand I don't get hung up on any particular style of music, but Johnny Cash in my mind is just fucked up!

There are plenty of examples of people having to work at a job that they hate, because sometimes they have to do it just for the money. I'm all for everybody being professional, but when you love your job and it makes you money it's the perfect combination. My family understands and supports me in what I do. They know it's what I live for, and it also brings in normal money. If anyone wants a tattoo, they will definitely get one at some point. If it happens to my kids, I'll just recommend them a good master.
I don't like to make plans for the future, because they have a tendency not to come true. I prefer to live for today, just the here and now. My main plan is to strive for self-improvement and self-development.
I do not have any rules. But since childhood I was taught to do my job well and take responsibility for it. To this day, this postulate is probably the main principle for me. I would advise novice tattoo artists to find a decent teacher, not to get locked up in your own personality and to try to think globally.

Tattoo
In a variety of photos of the artist you can discern on his hands at once several sayings in Latin. On the left forearm of Dmitry in the Gothic style the inscription in Latin "Te amo es mecum", which has several translations: "I love you, this is true" and "I love you, be with me". They say that this inscription is dedicated to his ex-wife Alice Cher, with whom the actor lived in a marriage of 18 years. Nagiev's close friends claim that he has long regretted getting this tattoo.
"It was a mistake of youth and the impulses of youth. Nothing more."
The true reason and the deep meaning of this inscription leading by the good old tradition is not advertised.
Nagiev has a Latin inscription on his right hand "Angelus meus. quantum mild cume. Liberos meos. Da salutem in multa saecula vivere dignitate. Felicitatem. Amorem. Ne luxuriae sit. Cum amore.". Its meaning: "My angel. My children. Give them health for many hundreds of years, so that each may live in dignity. Happiness, Love is our luxury when you love." Judging by the photo from Instagram, on the right forearm, this Latin aphorism appeared quite recently, thanks to the St. Petersburg master of his craft.
