Fascinating cartoon series does not leave indifferent neither children nor adults. It is not surprising that often men and women as an original body image choose the characters of an interesting cartoon.

The meaning of the tattoo "Adventure Time"

Images of cartoon characters choose both men and women. Most of the emphasis when choosing a tattoo falls on the style of new skull and watercolor.

Images of such themes on the human body can be interpreted as a direct interest in animated films (respectively British):

  • belief in miracles,
  • love of fairy tales,
  • kindness,
  • soulfulness.

In some cases, drawings of cartoon characters are chosen not for their meaning, but simply as a colorful body decoration.

If we take into account the main cartoon character, who is always ready to help, has a keen sense of justice. About the owner of such a tattoo we can say that he is a knight in armor, in which childhood is still present. But in contrast to the usual definition of childhood, as the presence in a man of irresponsibility and frivolity, in this case we can say that in a man there is a childlike frankness.

Meaning for Men

Not quite often, but still, the "Adventure Time" tattoo can be found in the representatives of the stronger half of humanity. If there is an image in men, it is usually made in the style of realism. As much as possible similar to the characters of the cartoon.

The meaning of this tattoo in men will be as follows:

  1. Soulfulness;
  2. Optimistic character;
  3. Kindness;
  4. Willingness to help;
  5. Love for children's cartoons;
  6. Immediacy in actions.

Meaning for women

In the case of the choice of the "Adventure Time" tattoo by the fair sex, images made in the style of new skull and watercolor will look the best.

Peculiar tattoos on the female body can be interpreted as kindness and responsiveness of their owners. Girls with such images believe in miracles and are always ready to come to the aid of loved ones. Sometimes the choice of such images for women becomes not a definition of any traits of their character, but simply as a decoration of his body.

Notes[edit]

  1. Although, biologically speaking, Joshua is Jake's mother, since he gave birth to him(!). The author of the edit would prefer to remain silent.
  2. In some flashbacks, Jake and Jermaine, who were born on the same day are shown as babies next to Finn, which means we can assume that Finn was welcomed into the family some time later after the pups were born.
  3. BIMO has neither sex (a robot) nor gender, so the author of the article will refer to it in the masculine form.
  4. Unless it's a split personality, of course.
  5. The unofficial continuation of the cartoon series in the comics also shows that in one version of the future in 10,000 years, Marceline, who has lost her memory, will take apart the broken BMO into three different robots, which will be her only friends in the distant future.
  6. The surname with the ending -ov and the Christian name "Peter" in the base can be found in Russians, Belarusians and Bulgarians, also, according to the supplementary edition of Enchiridion and Marcy's Secret Diary, Simon and Betty studied at a university in St. Petersburg before moving to the USA. The author of this edit, however, is inclined to believe that the future Snow King comes from Bulgaria: he has rather swarthy skin, and the Bulgarians also have the name Simon, which may have turned into Simon after immigration.
  7. Taken from the episode "Simon and Marcy," taking place in 996 where Simon mentions that he is 47 and Marceline is 7. The episode itself is the vampire's story to Finn and Jake about events that took place 996 years before the episode. The implication is that Marcy should be 1003 and Simon should be 1043, but by chronology, where the ending of episode 6 takes place exactly a millennium after the Great Mushroom War (~3010), "Simon and Marcy" is placed in the 2nd year after the war (~2012). It appears that due to a mistake by the creators, the characters are "aged" by two years.
  8. According to the Encyclopedia of Adventure Time, he froze himself in ice and thus survived the Mushroom Bomb explosion.
  9. Nevertheless, in the comics, the best parts were written by Gunther.
  10. Although, some non-canonical sources indicate that she was a vampire by birth, grew up with her father in Nochesphere, and is the vampire queen for real as ruler. This, of course, is not true.

Tattoos with your favorite movie or cartoon characters are not that rare. This is not surprising, because sometimes fictional characters have a greater impact on us than real people, in fact, that is the value of art. Cartoons remind us of our childhood, even though we continue to watch them as adults, and childhood, in turn, is associated with carefree and cheerfulness. The characters from the cartoon "Adventure Time", with which tattoos began to appear a few years ago, confirm this to the fullest extent.

What will the cartoons say about you?

There are sketches of the tattoo "Adventure Time" as with one character, and whole group portraits. If in the second case, the work simply shows the love of the owner to this cartoon, in the first - the admiration for a particular character. Such sympathy can tell something about the owner of the tattoo:

  • Finn. The main character of the cartoon is a hero in every sense of the word. He is always ready to come to the aid of those in need, courteous and polite to the ladies, has a keen sense of justice, not to his age brave and enterprising. Working with Finn suggests that its owner is just a knight in shining armor, for which, however, childhood is not over yet. However, if we used to associate childhood with irresponsibility and frivolity, in this case it is more about openness to something new. Adults lose this quality over time because of their disappointments, while children are ready to explore the world from morning till night.
  • Jake. Jake's imagination is so powerful that everything he imagines becomes reality. He plays several musical instruments, speaks foreign languages, is smart, but often careless. He is confident that any trouble will come to an end, there will be a way out of a difficult situation, nothing to be discouraged about. Jake is mostly chosen by versatile people, with many hobbies, they are always ready to support in word and deed.
  • Ice King. Although he is the main antagonist, his intrigues are not about malice, but about loneliness and social awkwardness. He constantly kidnaps princesses in the hope of marrying them and no longer being lonely, but the Ice King is no good with the ladies, so none of them has ever shown affection for him. He often imposes his society on the other characters, not realizing that it is a burden on them.

Music[edit]

Some episodes consist of almost 40% songs. Almost every character has some sort of musical instrument and periodically muses on it.

  • Hell's Dad is a floor pedal: almost every one of the main characters has one. Martin, Finn's father, is a goat with a heart of gold in the past and even exhibits the traits of a wolf father, but after a head injury sustained just as he was trying to save his son, he has developed amnesia and
  • Warren Ampersandre, the metamorph, Jake's biological father who used his children to keep him strong and young.
  • The Flame King is a tyrant and fratricide who has imprisoned his daughter in a lamp since birth.
  • Hanson Abadir is exactly what it says on the package - hellish in the literal sense. What is unusual is that he is more adequate than the previous ones.
  • Princess Bubblegum, on the other hand, had no father (at all), but an evil uncle.
  • And he's not like that at all - Marceline. She loves bullying strangers and likes to spread rumors about the bloodthirsty vampire queen. In fact, she doesn't even drink blood. In fact, she doesn't even drink blood. In fact, she's been at war with vampires for years, saving what's left of humanity from them. She exterminated all vampires, but she herself was infected by the last vampire on earth.
  • The Anti-Villain is the Ice King.
  • White-gray morality - 90% of the villains have backstory and depth, which makes them more human. If you add Leach to the overall morality of the series, it's Good, Bad, Evil.
  • Bonus for the grown-ups - Older viewers will easily recognize the plot of "Hamlet," only finalized with a file, because here the late king's sons are just as vicious as the current murderous king. It is the "Hamlet" sons who plan to poison the king (to put ice in his ear, because they are all fire elementals). And the cartoon series as a whole is famous for its rich array of adult material. To begin with at least the fact that it is, for a second, post-apocalyptic.
  • Suddenly Gay is Princess Gum and Marceline. Also, perhaps, Strong Susie.
  • Everyone's favorite is Princess Gum. However, since she herself created all her subjects, their adoration of her ruler's persona is understandable.
  • What a twist! - Hints that the world of Woo is earth in the future appear later than the first season.
  • Brain dislocation is an assortment.
  • «What the fuck did I just watch?!»
    - Nostalgia Critic after watching the first episode
    • Upon further viewing, viewers can discover tons of meaning and logical connections, and start twisting their own brains by speculating on further plot developments.
    • Ancient Evil and the Complete Monster is a lich. Just an IF - Dr. Gross.
    • A cat named Neko - and his name is also Lich.
  • Groundhog Day - episode 24 of season 7.
  • Soul in a Test Tube - The Ice King's crown contains the souls of everyone who has worn that crown.
  • The only normal person is Finn. The only person
in the UUU in the usual sense, though apart from him, with some reservations there is: the elemental wizard-turned and demented Simon Petrikov (though he became human again in one episode for a while and again at the end of the show, this time forever); the human mother Marceline, also a vampire-turned human; Patient Saint Pym, human and reincarnated elemental; Betty, who jumped through the time portal to war but later became a wizard; Strong Susan, a cyborg from the Islands; another cyborg, Moses Mastro Giovanni; Finn's temporarily glimpsed father Martin, also a full human. And a host of humanoids, apparently descendants of mutated humans.
  • Life is a Dream and Adventures in Comalandia - some of the adventures Finn or Jake experience in their sleep.
  • Spooky Birds is the penguin Gunther, pet of the Ice King. An ancient demon is imprisoned in his body.
Behind everything was a dog - him.
  • Replaced his parents - Finn, lost at sea by his father, was raised by Jake and Jermaine's parents.
During and after the Great Mushroom War, Marceline was cared for by Simon.
  • A sonic dummy - with a wick screwed on, Finn can sing with a chiptune because he once swallowed a small computer.
  • Golden Hair, Golden Heart - Finn and his mother Minerva Campbell.
  • Playing with Fire is the Fire Princess, heiress to the throne of the Fire Kingdom, Finn's former lover and Fire Elemental. Other inhabitants of the Fire Kingdom also possess pyrokinesis.
  • Idyllic Pregnancy - Lady Livnearg.
Trouble During Pregnancy - At the end of the episode "The Lady and the Puffer" it is revealed that the Lady is pregnant. She had been twisted into a knot by Ricardio before, and afterwards she carried wounded Finn, Jake, and Princess Gum for three days.
  • Reality Alteration - Occurs in some episodes where the past or present is edited with the help of semi-divine personalities from the outside.
  • Candybar - Finn himself wears a balaclava with bear ears, in fact hats are traditionally worn by all people from the faraway Islands where he comes from - their ancestors used them after the nuclear war to camouflage themselves from vampires and man-eating liverworts.
  • The female king is a gender inversion: after the overthrow of Princess Gum Princess
becomes King UUUU. if anything, King is probably a name.
  • The Queen is shaved - Princess Bubblegum is voiced by bearded man and cartoon creator Pendleton Ward.
  • Lutocentric Play - Played out in one of the episodes, where Finn gets stuck in a dungeon train on his way to a certain destination. Things start to clear up when, after a few rooms, the over-skinned inhabitants of the first one come out to meet the heroes, and the train itself turns out to be a ring.
  • A World Without People - For most of the series, Finn seems to be the only non-motivated person. There are people, but very few, and only one island and possibly the surviving continents are more or less densely populated. Only animate objects, monsters, and mutants far from always anthropomorphic live on the UUU.
  • I'm actually seven hundred years old - Princess Bubblegum is not eighteen, as she said. She's over eight hundred.
  • Mutants and robots are a noticeable part of the UUU population.
  • Ungrateful cattle - the inhabitants of UUU often behave that way.
  • Incredibly cool curse - Finn's herbal sword is tied to him forever and he can't get rid of it... And, actually, what's the problem - it's even handy!
  • Incredibly lame gift - wizards in the setting are not a separate race of creatures, and they can become the representatives of any race, but in passing abilities get madness and depression. And it does not matter whether the source of magic is an artifact or internal forces. It is a popular misconception that the crown robbed Simon Petrikov of his mind, but in fact insanity is a companion of any magic, and the gradual descent to it is an inevitable consequence, in the case of the Ice King it is especially strong because of the power of the artifact itself and Petrikov's initial lack of magical abilities.
  • Don't call me "sir" - an unusual option, it never even occurred to naive Finn that princesses have ordinary names, too ! It really pissed the Fire Princess off (though she didn't show it) that when they met he never even asked her name. Fire Princess' real name is Phoebe.
  • Zero rating - almost everyone in the Candy Kingdom despises and fears Count Lemongrab (heir to the throne, if anything) and is trying their best to shirk the obligation to keep him company as a friend at Princess Bubblegum's request. Some are even willing to break their own arm to avoid spending time with this sour inadequate man.
  • From the bad to the terrible - with the already sad ending of the series, the shown episodes of the future after the end of the series make you shudder: the continent of the UUU is tyrannized after a thousand years by one of the distant descendants of Jake and Lady Livnerog, there is no mention of the people who came to the UUU in the series ending, the Candyland Kingdom has disappeared.
  • A bad good ending - the near war and the end of the world are averted, but Finn is left without an arm, a home, and his doppelganger friend, and Simon, though he is back to his old self, has lost the beloved who saved him. Still, in the distant future, most of the world will be dead by then.
  • The loser protagonist, Finn, gets almost nothing from his adventures except the adventures themselves and the bitter truth about anything. As it later turns out his previous incarnations and even his alter egos in parallel worlds are often haunted by sorrows and failures. They usually lose their right arm under different circumstances (often the fault of their parents), usually their parents are the last bastards, and often they become orphans and very often they tragically die.
  • Goodbye, Alice - From the first to the last season, Finn goes from an optimistic and brightly positive boy to a sad and broken young man, mentally and physically crippled.
  • Goodbye, My Trusty Sword - Pedal to the Floor: Finn changes these very swords about half a dozen times over the course of the series. He also carried Scarlet's golden sword (turned into a four-dimensional wunderwaffle and destroyed), Jake's thirteenth birthday present with a wood root hilt, an inherited demon blood sword from his foster father (stolen by that very demon),
  • Radiation is magic! - The mushroom war is a thick allusion to the atomic war, after which many people grotesquely mutated.
  • Developed ancient humanity is the humanity of the Earths of Woo times before the Mushroom War.
  • The Reich-esque hide-and-seekers of Frau Dr. Gross, dressed in SS uniforms with a Ustasha-like insignia, whose aim is to capture people fleeing the island and destroy mutants who pose a threat, have net guns to catch humans and planes to chase refugees. Dr. Gross himself, as seen in the "Hide-and-seek" series, sings a song about safety on the island and the racial superiority of humans, in effect being the Fuehrer of the island Reich of the people.
  • The self-deprecating music is "I Remember You," performed by a weeping Marceline reading Simon's millennial poems from scribbled newspaper pages, accompanied by a hooting Ice King performing a hilarious drum solo. And the clue is simple: the insane, feeble-minded Ice King, the same Simon, just doesn't remember his past and doesn't understand the tragedy of what's going on. A tearjerker is included.
  • The dog is man's friend Jake, Finn's best friend and mentor older brother.
  • Darker and sharper - the series begins as a funny children's cartoon with absurd humor, but gradually begins to reveal more serious and philosophical themes, the bright and colorful world turns into a post-apocalyptic Earth, which survived a nuclear war, there are much more terrible and dangerous villains, more complex and ambiguous conflicts, and in the end it almost ends with a new apocalypse, though prevented, but not without victims. It's hard to call the ending of the animated series good for Finn, especially when the third episode, "Distant Lands," shows that by then most of the famous characters are dead, including Finn and Jake.
Finn, at any rate, lived to a ripe old age. Jake, unknown.
  • Did you pluck your eyebrows? - As Jake transforms into his true shape as a metamorph, Princess Slime asks if he got a haircut. He did, by the way!
  • Fanfic - The Ice King writes a fanfic with gender inverted characters of the main plot, several episodes dedicated to him.
  • Vampire Danger Scale is ~2.8:
4 - vampires feed on the color red. Blood is just concentrated red.
  • 2 - In one episode without red, Marceline began to starve.
  • 2 - The Vampire King turned Marceline in one bite before he died.
  • 3 - Before Marceline, the vampires fed mostly on humans, exterminating them almost entirely in Woo, and then Marcy exterminated them all.
  • 2,5 - The royal court had different abilities, but normal vampires didn't have them. Marcelline, on the other hand, got a set of superpowers like shape-shifting, levitation, telekinesis, hypnosis, and other things by absorbing the souls of the ghouls she killed, but soul absorption is her demonic inheritance that has nothing to do with bloodsuckers.
  • 3 - the whole standard set.
  • 3 - nothing remarkable about their appearance.
  • Elemental - There are four elementals in the Woo world, each controlling a different element: ice, fire, candy and slime. The elementals are reborn in different eras, living new lives. At the time of the series, the elementals are Patient Saint Pim, Fire Princess, Princess Gum and Princess Slime.
Fifth Elemental/Fifth Elemental - The Princess of the Bubblegum Kingdom is an anti-elemental capable of nullifying the effects of the four elements.
  • Style and Place on Body

Newschool is perhaps the most successful style choice for an Adventure Time tattoo, as it is for any cartoon image. It is bright, clear and emotional, the works pay a lot of attention to the plot, the transfer of a certain mood. Newschool takes a lot from oldschool, but it doesn't follow the canon so rigorously. Oldschool many people are accused of primitiveness, which is certainly not newskul.

Another interesting option - watercolor. Tattoos with cartoon characters are already original in themselves, because they are quite rare, and watercolor characters are not an ordinary choice at all. We are used to perceiving watercolor exclusively as a painting technique, but with the appearance of the first watercolor tattoos the style was immediately appreciated. In addition to saturated colors, smooth transitions of one shade into another, the work may well contain a clear but subtle contours.

Choosing a place for a tattoo, take into account the peculiarities of the sketch. For example, round-shaped drawings look best on the chest, shoulder blade or thigh, and oblong - on the shoulder, forearm or lower leg.

To create a sketch, mostly cartoon frames are used, sometimes they are supplemented with some decorative elements to the taste of the customer. But there are interesting stylizations, such as Adventure time characters made in a different cartoon style, sometimes you can see even more versions that look like people to a greater extent.

If this is your first tattoo, consider that you will have to endure the pain, without them there is no way. The most painless places are the shoulder, the forearm, the outer side of the thigh. In any case, you should not refuse the idea because of the fear of pain, because you will have to suffer only once, and you will enjoy the tattoo for life. In addition, everyone has a different pain threshold, so then,
