Phrases for engraving, Part 2. Latin

New in blogs

Long and forever fascinated by Latin... Its sharp, chiseled phrases. Its immeasurable brevity. Its enduring relevance. It is so deeply embedded in my mind that it emerges from my memory uncontrollably, but always to the point.

In connection with the latest events in the world, in Ukraine, in Odessa and in the Moscow Patriarchate, for some reason, I recollected several unrelated Latin phrases.

I leafed through them and refreshed in memory the truths, long read and, it seems, familiar from birth... Which, however, we have to discover and prove to each other (and to ourselves!!!!) daily...

Please take a moment to read it. Ancient wisdom... Sobering. Makes sense. Guides. Helps. Reminds. Gives you a chance. And takes it away....

Finally, I want to share a poem by my favorite author, Oleg Blazhko.

Unfortunately, I do not know the exact date of its writing, one thing I can say with certainty - the poem was written no later than 2009.

Judge for yourself...

The club of anonymous lovers of vodka prefers bison. With herbs. The press prints wild summaries, and discusses the decline of morals. The fifth divorce of the chairman of the club, produced in a hangover, became a meeting in the park. At the oak tree. Where pro-fatherland and the sovereign loudly sounded cheerful speeches, after - smashed neighborhood huts, demanding the gathering of the people's veche and increase the average wage. In honor of the revival of the glorious traditions - they drank solemnly. Standing. And lying down. They searched for Caucasian and Semitic faces for a long time. They did not find any. It was decided: the enemy learned to disguise himself. So we should think about the rear, in order to avoid provocations. There, the secretary and keeper of the seal did not escape last week - he is pregnant. Very unfortunate. Where are the bastards who possessed him? They should be found. And now to the aspen. Convicted of molestation. Used to be a great secretary. Now he calls everyone "nasty boy." The years are hard. These are the times. Sneaks from the west. Slander from the east. Day or night, not a moment's peace. The society was in a state of shock for an hour - no matter how much you drink, there is no time for jokes when you know that NASA has dropped a company of paratroopers. On parachutes. In black spacesuits. Freemasons. Those bastards - who else is so blatantly evil? They didn't show up... Ambush was waiting for them - with a couple of shovels and a big stick. They were drinking again. But how else could we calm our nerves after the stormy stress? It should be noted that the saboteur and aggressor who broke in here would weep bitterly. He will weep bitterly. He'll be sorry for himself - he tried in vain to fight for heresy... It'll be beautiful: they hang along the alley: there - foreigners and here - foreigners. The power of the jet of popular anger is as dangerous as a tsunami wave. The deadline is approaching. Answer. All of you are those who are not in the club. Not ours. Not with us.

I'll probably fall out of the Marine Corps life for a few days. Sorry everyone whose thoughts and questions I'll ignore.... I just don't have the energy.

People, please be Human. It's not that hard...

See you later, friends.

Prayer to cast the devil out of human flesh. Imperat tibi sacramentum Crucis + , omniumque christianae fidei Mysteriorum virtus + . Imperat tibi excelsa Dei Genitrix Virgo Maria + , quae superbissimum caput tuum a primo instanti immaculatae suae conceptionis in sua humilitate contrivit. Translation

We cast you out, spirit of every impurity, every satanic power, every hostile intruder of hell, every legion, every assembly and sect of the devil, in the name and virtue of our Lord Jesus Christ, uproot yourself and flee from the church of God, from the souls created in the image of God and redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb. + No longer dare you, you cunning serpent, to deceive the human race, to persecute the church of God, and to reject and scatter God's elect as wheat. + The Most High God commands thee, + Whom hitherto thou art equal in thy great pride; Who desires to save all men, and to bring them to the knowledge of the truth. God the Father commands you; God the Son commands you; God the Holy Spirit commands you. + The majesty of Christ, the eternal God of the Word incarnate, commands you, who for the salvation of our race, which fell by your envy, humbled himself and was obedient even unto death; who built his Church on a solid rock, promising that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it, for he himself shall remain with it to the end of the age. The mystery of the Cross commands you, and all the mysteries of the Christian faith are noble. + The high Virgin Mary commands you, who from the first moment of her Immaculate Conception smote your haughty head in her humility. The faith of the holy apostles Peter and Paul and the other apostles commands you. + The blood of the martyrs and the pious intercession of all the holy men and women commands you. +Therefore we adjure you, you cursed serpent and legion of the devil, by the living God, the true God, the holy God, the God who so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life: stop deceiving people and pouring on them the poison of eternal damnation; stop harming the Church and putting fetters on her freedom. Be gone, Satan, inventor and master of all lies, enemy of human salvation. Make room for Christ, in whom you will find nothing that you have done; make room for the One, Holy, Universal, and Apostolic Church, which has been purchased by Christ through His blood. Bow down under the almighty Hand of God; tremble and flee when we call upon the holy and fearful name of Jesus, from whom hell trembles, to whom the Powers, Powers and Authorities of heaven humbly worship, to whom the Cherubim and Seraphim ceaselessly sing the praises, crying out: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God of hosts.Let us pray. God of heaven, God of earth, God of angels, God of archangels, God of patriarchs, God of prophets, God of apostles, God of martyrs, God of confessors, God of virgins, God who has power to give life by death and rest by works; for there is no other God but You and there can be no other, for You are the Creator of visible things and invisible things, and to Your reign there is no end: Humbly before the greatness of Thy glory we pray that Thou mayest kindly deliver us by Thy power from all possession of the spirits of hell, from their wiles, from deception and wickedness, and keep us safe and unharmed. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

P.S - ++++++++ plus signifies inaccuracy or uncertainty in translation.Forgive me, but the language as a prayer is very old and the true essence is not for everyone to understand. If anyone offers his own translation only I will be glad to admit my inaccuracy in translation.
