Fighter Jeff Monson talked about the "Motherland" tattoo and love for Russia

One of the most important and meaningful tattoos is the Motherland tattoo. There is no person who would not know about this epochal sculpture. The monument is dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, and symbolizes the deepest patriotism, duty to the homeland, love for the native land, invincibility and strong spirit of the people. Of course, the Motherland is a tattoo that is not suitable for everyone, and to nab it will not dare everyone.

The meaning of the tattoo "Motherland"

The monument of the Motherland itself has several meanings. This image looks like a statuesque woman dressed in a thin fluttering dress. The woman stands in a proud pose, extending upward her arm with a sword. It represents the Motherland - the one that must be defended, for which every patriot is ready to go into battle and lay down his life.

Motherland is a tattoo with a serious and noble meaning. This tattoo means real patriotism and devotion to his land. It means that its bearer appreciates his homeland and his native culture, ready to defend and protect it. That Mother and Motherland for him - not just empty words.

The tattoo also reflects a deep respect and reverence for veterans who had passed the Great Patriotic War. It signifies the eternal memory of the deeds of veterans, and pride in the country's victory in that war.

It can also mean one or another involvement in military events, both the bearer himself and his ancestors. But it is important that under such an image should hide real patriotism and devotion to his native land. Joking and boasting with such symbols is not allowed!

Who gets such a tattoo?

It goes without saying that the "Motherland" tattoo is not suitable for everyone. There are unspoken rules of who can wear such tattoos - and these rules are worth following. For example:

  • The tattoo "Motherland" is suitable only for adult people who are conscious and have had some experience in life. It would be strange and funny to see such a tattoo on the body of a 19-year-old boy, wouldn't it? It can be seen as a mockery and an insult to the entire national culture.
  • This is more of a male tattoo, as it is militant and more masculine in nature, despite the fact that the picture shows a woman. Girls tattoos of this kind simply do not suit girls, they look rude and unnatural. So it is better to choose a different storyline for the tattoo, and patriotic subjects to leave the strong sex.
  • People associated with military service can get tattoos. But it is not enough to just go to the army to get such tattoos. The man's name is not a symbol of the military, but if he is somehow connected with military action, he can put such a picture on his skin. As a symbol of readiness to go to battle for his native land, a symbol of courage and militant character.
  • Adult men can wear a tattoo depicting this monument as a symbol of strong and courageous character, readiness to defend his family and his land, as a symbol of fearlessness. But it should not be unsubstantiated, these qualities really must be present!

The tattoo "Motherland" is rare because it does not suit everyone. But if you personally it really fits, it resonates in the heart - then you should think about how the sketch will be made.

Jeff Monson told about the "Motherland" tattoo and his love for Russia

The famous American athlete talks about tattoos, history and the heroism of the Russian people.

American mixed martial artist Jeffrey Monson has found yet another way to express his love for the Russian Federation. On March 3, in one of the Moscow tattoo parlors, the athlete put an image of the Motherland sculpture on his right hip. Jeff told "360 Podmoskovje" why this particular drawing now adorns his body.

"Everyone asks me about my new tattoo. I got [the image of] the Motherland statue, and it's an incredibly special tattoo for me. Last year I was in Volgograd and visited this memorial complex. We were there in the evening and I was amazed. It was a very emotional moment for me," said Monson.

It turned out that Monson is quite familiar with the history of Russia and the Great Patriotic War.

"More than 1 million people died there. They fought with a force two times smaller than the enemy. They were brave citizens and soldiers. A very impressive complex. I will never forget it. I felt the history, felt the pain and suffering of the people who fought there. It's an invaluable experience and I would like to share it that's why I made this tattoo," the athlete told 360 Moscow Region correspondents.

The work on the "Motherland" tattoo took five and a half hours. Monson praised the work of his master.

"It [the tattoo] was done by my friend Alexander, I highly appreciate this work and his great work," said the sportsman.

The fighter noted that perhaps this tattoo will have a sequel.

"People ask me if I will do the rest of the sculptures from the composition. Honestly, I didn't know it was a triptych and I wanted to visit these places first to really feel the pain, the bravery of the soldiers, the fight for the future that helped the Soviet army win and liberate Europe," Monson said.

The veil of secrecy about the future drawing was lifted specially for "360 Moscow Region" by tattoo master Alexander Medved.

"It will be a leg, we will discuss the details of the sketch directly in person and the viewers of the channel will be the first to know about it. This I promise!" - told our channel master.

History of tattoos

Later, there were other reasons for tattoos in different peoples. Let's tell you about the most popular ones.

Transitional age. When young men in some tribes reached a certain age, they made a mark in the form of a tattoo of his initiation as a man. Girls were marked in a similar way after their first period.

Type of therapy. For disease prevention, as well as for treatment (as in the case of the ice man Etsi), special symbols were applied to prevent the entry of disease into the body and to banish soreness.

Cosmetic purposes. Majori women were tattooed on the contour of their lips. In the absence of makeup, it was believed that such a method would keep her attractive for a long time.

The tattoo was a talisman. In different regions it was believed that the image or a certain symbol will protect its owner from machinations of the dark forces, spirits and other evil spirits.

Tattoo of the patroness. In some pagan tribes, patrons of the people were living creatures: birds or animals. The image, for example, a bear or an eagle saved the tribe, in their opinion, from trouble, helped in the work.

A sign of seduction. Women of Babylon and Sumer decorated their bodies with original patterns, signs of the sun, stars, and moon. It was believed that such painting attracted men to their mistress.

Slave branding. In China and Ancient Greece, slaves were marked with a tattoo mark that could be used to find a fugitive. In Japan, criminals and members of the untouchable caste were marked in the same way.

A Sign of Intimidation. Warriors in Polynesia had "scarecrows" drawn in the form of shark teeth or spearheads. Even Cook, who had seen many things in his life, was affected by it. He was the first to see the militant and frightening dance of the natives with such tattoos. Such signs were very popular with many tribes and peoples of the world.

The tattoo is a passport. Women of one of the Japanese islands, and in some other nations, made special marks on the face about marriage, the number of children.

Religious tattoos. They were received by pilgrims who made their way to holy places. In Bosnia, Catholics used to put a cross or the initials of Jesus Christ on their bodies.

The tattoo was a number. Under Peter the Great in Russia, soldiers had a cross cut on their wrist and a serial number. Dry powder was placed in the wound instead of paint. This method served to determine whether the killed or wounded soldier belonged to a military unit.

Belonging. Very often the tattoo served as a sign of kinship with a particular tribe, community, clan, etc.

A tattoo is a talisman. Also extremely popular type of tattoo. It was tattooed for good luck in life, trades, work, etc.

A means of protection. At the northern peoples: Eskimos, Yakuts, Chukchi tattoo protected his master from wind, sea water, snow.

In the ancient world, tattoos were applied to separate parts of the body or covered it entirely with a drawing. The latter option was especially common in Polynesia and the American Indians, where new tattoos were added throughout life.

All of the above suggests that the modern tattoo craze has deep historical roots.
